Transportation
Association of
Maryland (TAM)

THE BRIEF The Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM) needed a full creative partner to own their visual identity and produce all branded collateral across every channel- from refreshing their brand identity, to concepting and creating all collateral for their annual conference to their social media presence. As lead designer and creative director on the TAM account, I concept, design, and produce the complete ecosystem of brand touch points that keep TAM looking polished and professional year-round.

MY ROLE Functioning as an embedded creative director on a freelance basis, I lead all design strategy and execution for TAM- collaborating closely with the Executive Director, print partners and internal stakeholders to deliver work that punches well above the organization's size.

REBRAND TAM's original brand, established in the early 2000s, was strong but its look had started to feel dated. One of the first things I did was refresh the identity including a strengthened color palette, modern typography, and flexible asset system- in a way that maintained the trustworthy feel people expect from a transportation association.

BEFORE

AFTER

2026 SPONSORSHIP PROSPECTUS I developed the visual identity and layout for a comprehensive conference sponsorship prospectus, translating complex sponsorship tiers, event programming, and exhibitor details into an engaging, easy-to-navigate publication.

2025 ANNUAL CONFERENCE I designed and implemented a comprehensive event graphics program for the 2025 Conference, including wayfinding, schedules, sponsor recognition, speaker promotions, digital displays, and environmental signage. Inspired by transportation networks, the visual system created a cohesive attendee experience across print and digital, while supporting navigation, engagement, and brand visibility throughout the event.

In-Use

ANNUAL REPORT Every year, I create a new report that consolidates a year of TAM's growth - board updates, event highlights, awards, member data, and sponsor recognition - into a polished, navigable publication built. For 2023’s report, I developed a custom transit-route motif, inspired by subway and bus line maps, that runs throughout the report, reinforcing TAM's mission in the visual system itself, not just the content.

DIGITAL ASSETS I created a flexible banner system for TAM that balanced strong visual hierarchy, photography, and brand elements to communicate event details and membership messaging clearly across web, email, and social media platforms.
