WIC
Branding and Design

THE BRIEF Maryland WIC, the state's nutrition support program for low-income women, infants, and children, needed a sustained design partner to produce a wide-ranging ecosystem of print and digital collateral that communicated clearly and compassionately to a diverse public audience.

THE CHALLENGE Designing for a government health program means working within strict brand standards, accessibility requirements, and bureaucratic approval processes, while still making materials that feel warm, human, and genuinely useful to the families receiving them. The audience includes people navigating real hardship, so clarity and dignity in every piece mattered as much as aesthetics.

MY ROLE As Lead Designer on the Maryland WIC contract through Alpha Graphics, I built and managed a team of designers responsible for the full collateral ecosystem — including brochures, booklets, transit ads, UX web design, and app logos. I oversaw creative quality across all deliverables while ensuring every piece met state brand standards and accessibility guidelines.

THE RESULT The partnership produced a cohesive statewide collateral system that supported Maryland WIC in reaching and serving thousands of families across print, digital, and transit channels - consistently, accessibly, and on brand.
